Autumn Years
Belle of the Ball My mam died more than 20 years ago but I still think of her most days and I miss her. We lived in North East England in a working class community where the Working Men's Club was the hub of local social life. Every Saturday night after a hard week's graft, my Mam and Dad would dress up in their glad rags and go down to the club for a few drinks and a dance. This songs brings back memories of my Mam from when I was a bairn. I vividly remember her putting on her make-up, doing a twirl in her frock and asking 'Will I do?'
